One of most rewarding and exhilarating times of your life is closer than you think. The National Citizens Service (NCS) is a once in a lifetime experience for years 11 and 12 in England and Northern Island. NCS will open a world of opportunities that help you build new skills whilst meeting inspirational people and taking on new challenges. It’s a lot of fun!
There are 5 four-week programme starting on 25 June, 2 July, 9 July, 23 July and 30 July. The whole things costs just £35 (the programme starting on 25 June costs just £20). What does it involve?
EMBARK ON AN ADVENTURE: Residential- Westermill Farm, Exford, Exmoor.
Phase 1: You’ll experience the freedom of living away from home glamping, taking part in a variety of activities such as climbing, water-sports and mountain boarding. You’ll get to make new friendships, learn new skills and create memories that will last a lifetime!
BUILD SKILLS FOR LIFE: Residential- Bridgwater and Taunton College Halls Of Residence, Trull.
Phase 2: This is where we fast forward your future. On this phase you’ll be living in university accommodation with your friends. You’ll be cooking for each other, taking part in media workshops and learning skills for life. You’ll also get the chance to work with local businesses and organisations which will help understanding all about budgeting and getting ready for the exciting world ahead!
MAKE A MARK ON YOUR LOCAL COMMUNITY: Delivered locally over 60 hours
Phase 3: This is your opportunity to make a difference to your community using all the skills you have learned with your team mates. Make a difference and create a project that you’re passionate about. This is your chance to be inventive and creative; fundraise by hosting a sporting event or music festival, or raise awareness for a charity of your choice. You’ll have a great feeling of accomplishment.
