SHAL GOES EVEN GREENER

SHAL Housing in Bridgwater has started recycling all its office waste. SHAL was already very conscious of saving paper and cutting down on waste but has just started a contract with Bridgwater firm Perrys who will recycle almost everything and what’s more they collect it for free!

All staff now have a paper recycling box in their office, all plastic cups are washed and re-used and then collected in a recycling box, milk containers are now washed and placed in a separate bin for recycling and cardboard is flattened and recycled too.

John Thomson, Chief Executive of SHAL said “It is fantastic to think that from now on only a very small amount of our rubbish will be going to a landfill site. SHAL has always made every effort to be environmentally aware particularly when involved with newbuild properties but I am pleased that this has now extended to the office”

Angie Goffe, Administration Officer of SHAL said “When John asked me to be involved with setting up the recycling system I was more than happy to do so as it is something that I feel very strongly about and hope that more offices will follow suit.”
