New affordable homes to rent in Highbridge

Bridgwater based SHAL Housing is pleased to announce the provision of more homes to rent in Highbridge, at affordable rents.

On 30 January 2009, this not-for-profit company purchased the last four of nine properties built by Bellway for SHAL at Mulholland Park. Three houses and two flats were completed by Bellway in the autumn. The completion of two further flats and two houses supplies accommodation for another 16 people. Tenants, found through the new Homefinder Somerset choice based lettings scheme on the internet, signed for their new homes on the same day.

SHAL, the landlord with the largest number of homes to rent in Sedgemoor after the Council, is pleased to be developing new homes to rent. Chief Executive, John Thomson, said, "with our rents being significant lower than those in the private sector our homes are definitely affordable and people can use the money they save to have a better quality of life now or to save for a deposit for a home of their own in the future". SHAL's average rent across all its stock is currently around £72 a week and it provides homes for anyone unable to afford to buy a home of their own, subject to availability.

And that is not all! On the same day SHAL announced that a further 5 two bedroom flats in Mulholland Park, being built by Wimpey, have been bought by SHAL for letting in March.
